more on knuckleheads......

.....yeah..Hilary posted.......great blog. So I'll just add some more comments in addition to her wonderful blog.......it was a great venue (Knuckleheads) and as Hilary stated, we were treated well, not just the food and drinks, but from all the staff involved.......it was an interesting club, part of it being a bike shop (Harley type) housed in one of the early train station of Kansas City.....it was down in the northwest bottoms, with rail lines running 12 feet from the back of the venue......it had two stages, one very large one outside, and a smaller one inside......we opted for the inside one, due to possible weather conditions, and also , becuase when we arrived,, there was a saturday afternnon Blues jam going on (usually from 1pm -8 pm) which several of our band members became a part of in the late afternoon........the Green room was up and away from everything, so you had a very private area (with a private bathroom) away from all the activity of the club.......as I was walking around the Green room, looking at all the signed photos of all the artist who have played Knuckleheads, I realized we were in very good company, and it was surprizing how many of these Blues artist, I have meet, interviewed or talked with on the phone, during my years working in Community Radio. Actually quite humbling......everyone on the staff there was very welcoming and friendly, and were very attentive to any of our needs.....as Hilary said, we want to thank Sam and Kevin from Columbia, and our good friends Bob and Marti from Kansas City for stopping by . It was also great to help Radar, celebrate his belated birthday, and thanks to Radar for giving us an idea, about Hilary's violin/fiddle, it seemed to sing more than it ever had before, and it sang beautifully.....as far as we know, there is no recording of this show, which is a shame, but maybe next time......and we want to give an extra thanks to Pete, for working so hard on the stage monitors sound....we know it's a hard job sometimes, and he tackled it like the pro he is.......all in all we had a great time, and it will be a memorable gig.....Hilary was also on the big screens/TV's spread around the venue....when the pictures hit the website, you will see examples....so if you're ever in Kansas City, and want to go someplace for a meal or drink, head out to Knuckleheads, and tell them the Hilary Scott Band sent you......you won't be dissappointed.....hope to see a bunch of you at the Martini Bar this coming saturday night....till next post.......see ya..B.A.
