another month gone by......

...well, here it is the end of January, and it hasn't been a bad month weather wise, which is kind of nice, being in January and it's way above freezing......a few saturdays ago one of the Hilary Scott Trios ( which consisted of Hilary , Michael and B.A.) loaded in at the Royal Theater in downtown Versailles, Mo., around 2:30 in the afternoon. We were immediately greeted by Elvin ( Martin) our soundman for the evening. This is a nice smaller theater, opening in 1932 , and still holds some of the original charm. The theater has really nice acoustics, especially from an artist point of view......it was a packed house and a very appreciative audiance. I'd say a fun time was had by all, and of coarse, Kevin Dingman, one of our band photographers was all over the place shooting pictures as usual.....and Jeanene, Melissa, and Mark drove down and helped with merchandise sales....and sales were brisk.....it was a good night all around.......
............last saturday most of the band was in the studio (Bridge Studio) out by Lupus and Jamestown, laying down the basic backing tracks ( bass, guitars, piano, and drums) with a scratch vocal (to be scratched from the project, and vocals to be done at a later date) to the new studio album from Hilary and the band. 4 songs were completed , but no titles will be released till later.........Hilary will be in Nashville for awhile, working on her publishing deal, with more news on that later, then later in the month (february) , we hope to be back in the studio, to do some more basic backing tracks for some more of the cuts on the new disc.........don't forget to check the website for up and coming gig news.........Duos, Trios, Quartets, Full band gigs are already being booked and we hope to see a lot of you out there at these,.......... some here in Columbia, several in Kansas City and some down in southern Missouri ....so if you need a reason for a road trip as the weather permits, head on out to one of the gigs........till next blog, watch for the newsletter and keep checking the website for current news.......and thanks again for all of your support.....later..B.A.

Happy New Year....

.....first off, Happy New Year, and a big thank you to all the folks who came to the Missouri Theater last night, for First Night........it was hard to see beyond the 10th row, but the applause was thunderous, so we know there was a lot of you there......the Band would just like to say, thanks again for all your support........you're the reason we do this, ( it's fun also, but playing for you, the fans, is the main reason, plus the fact we love playing Hilary's tunes..........she is a pretty good boss........) I hope some of you caught all the acts at the Theater, they were all top notch......so we hope you had a great celebration, and thanks again to all of you and all the people envolved with First Night, which is starting to get National recognition for being one of the best First Night Celebrations in the country........enjoy the rest of your Holidays and we'll see you again in 2006. Keep checking the website for new bookings, they are starting to come in.......and again, something we can't say enough,........ thank you, each and everyone of you, wish we could do it on a one to one basis.........hhhmmmmm, maybe a big thank you concert and party with a meet and greet with the whole band is something to think about.....till next time, take care...B.A.
